Slot Car Racer by Grey Olltwit is very much like the real one I had as a kid. Just like the real thing, if you go around turns to fast you fly off the track. But, unlike the real thing Slot Car Racer has only one track. This game has a computer opponent that does not come off the track making it more dificult to win. There is a practice track that shows the areas where you should brake. By knowing this and only then, do you have any chance of beating the computer.
The game plays in 640x480 in either full screen or window mode. It has good sound and music which can be turned on and off, a high score table, choice of several different cars and choice of the number of laps to race, up to 80.
Games Controls:
Left Mouse Button (while pointer is over gas pedal) = Accelerates
Right Mouse Button = Brakes
CTRL P = Pause
F2 = New Race
F1 = Help
ALT F4 = Quit
CTRL S = Toggle Sounds On/Off
CTRL M = Toggle Music On/Off
F8 = Hide Top Menu Bar
ALT ENTER = Full Screen
To beat your computer opponent you must: Always keep "the pedal to the metal" and brake around corners at the same time.
