A 3D Japanese Space Shooter (game in English)
Torus Trooper is not just another 3D space shoot'em up. This is a fast paced action game where you twist and turn on your flight through a space tube destroying enemy ships and avoiding bullets along the way. Your flight is very similar to that of being on a roller coaster doing spirals. When you start the game you are allocated a certain amount of time to play but depening upon how well or poorly you do this time may be exended or even decreased with plus and minus time bonuses. When you run out of time the game is over.
The music in the game is very fast paced also allowing you to get in sync with the pace of the game.
There are three levels of dificulty and two types of weapons, bullets and a shot charge. A slot charge is an explosive type of weapon which can't fire as fast but provides more fir power. The game save the high the high score, so if you ever wiosh to clear it then just delete the file 'tt.prf'
Options which can be set from the command line include; brightness, luminosity, resolution, nosound, window and reverse. Normally Torus Trooper is run in full screen mode but when it is run in a window it can be as small as 220x170, large enough to fill you desktop or any size inbetween. For more details there is a good readme file in English.
Controls:
Arrow Keys or Keypad Arrow Keys or WASD or Joystick = Movement
Up/Down Keys = Increase/Decrease Speed
Z or Left Ctrl or JS Button 1,4,5,8 = Shoot = Start Game
X or Left Alt or Left Shift or / or JS Button 2,3,6,7 = Shoot Charge Shot
P = Pause
Esc = Quit
Torus Trooper is an addicting game to play. Even though it looks like there are lots of keys to remember, most of these are duplicates and it is a fairly simple game to play.
