Spore is a remake of a neat game from several older computer systems. The object of this game is to collect all the contaminated barrels from each sector. The obsticles in your way are the spores which zap your energy level. So you must shoot these and the spore generators. When you start the game you are closed in and cannot move. You must first destroy an adjacent laser generator by shooting it diagnally. (Hold down the Up Arrow key, Left Arrow Key and press Ctrl) You are then able to move around some and shoot the spores and spore generators and beginn to collect the barrels.
The default options for speed of game and graphics should only be changed if you have a slower computer. The sound options should be set to your liking (no sound, music only, sound effects only or music with sound effects). Only the highest score is saved and at the end of the game, this score along with your game score are only briefly displayed. The only thing lacking in Spore is a save game option so that previously played levels need not be repeated. The game play is just fantastic! There is an included html file which gives a bit more information than what you are reading here.
CONTROLS
Arrows = Move
Fire = Right Ctrl
Fire + Up Arrow = Fire Up
Fire + Down Arrow = Fire Down
Fire + Left Arrow = Fire Left
Fire + Right Arrow = Fire Right
Note: You can also fire diagnally!
Space = Repel Spores (only works if you have spore repellent)
Esc = Return to Title Screen
