2nd Encounter was made for the Retro Remakers Competition 2006 my version is a Remake of the game Encounter! The Original game by Paul
Woakes was puplished 1984 by Novagen Software . I dont know exactly the story , but what i know is that you landed on a Planet where some aliens use robot Bots for training. After your landing on the Planet the training system automaticly activates and your fight for survival begins. Read the read me (if you have downloaded it) for more info .
2nd Encounter has got very nice graphics and good sounds as you battle it out with Robot bots on the planet surface. On the first wave of attack you have to kill 13 Bots to move onto the next level, they don't all come at once but some are tough as they just smash into you so backing up and shooting does help to destroy these, if you stay on the same spot you are easy picking for the bots so move towards them and around them and keep firing. After you have finished a level go towards the sphere and onto the bonus level before appearing on the next level. I preferred the movement of the craft in the the mouse mode for being more accurate and precise and is great for sliding sideways and shooting, this is one of these games you need to keep playing to improve your tactics against the bots. The landscape are a bit plan except for short pillars everywhere the eye can see. The levels never changed to much only the colors of the sky and ground change so they do feel much a like. There are no saves for the levels you have done so each time you have to start from the begging what is a slight let down for this game, other from that a good game to play and worth a download.
