Astral Mega Invaders is a 3D remake of the classic "Space Invaders" game.
You receive different amounts of points for shooting 3 types of aliens and motherships
The game starts off with 80 aliens attacking you with lasers. To protect yourself you can shoot them with your lasers, hide behind your sheilds or try to dodge the incoming laser pulses. When all of the aliens have been anileated, it's on to the next wave.
In the bottom left hand corner of the game screen is a 2d radar image showing the aliens positions, a distance indicator and an aliens remaining counter. On the bottom right hand corner of the screen is you current score and number of lives remaining.
The graphics are oustanding, especially the lasers. The sound effects and the music is good also. There is no provision to save your game or even the high score. There are very few options available and the screen resolution is always 800x600 in full screen mode.
Controls, Title Screen:
M = Selects Mouse Control Mode
K = Selects Keyboard Control Mode
Space = Starts Game
Esc = Quit
Controls, In Game:
Mouse Movement = Moves the player (in mouse control mode)
Left Mouse Button = Fire Cannon (in mouse control mode)
Arrow Keys = Moves the player (in keyboard control mode)
Ctrl = Fires the cannon (in keyboard control mode)
Space = Pause On/Off
F = Frames Per Second Display
Z = Reduces Movement Speed
X = Increases Movement Speed
Esc = Quit
If you like Space Invader types and 3D games then Astral Mega Invaders is an excellent combo for you.
