A nice 3D snake, 43 levels + level editor, created for The Game Creators 2004 competition.
Unlike the original Snake, this is more of a puzzle game. The levels are made up of many hazards such as spikes, collapsing floors, locked doors and so forth. Some levels also contain enemies, or water which the snake can drown in! The objective of each level, is to eat all of the Golden Scarabs and then eat your tail (because that is what the Ouroboros is - the snake that eats it's own tail, symbolising the eternal cycle of... stuff).
You even can play the game in a 3D First Person mode, but that is quite difficult because the speed is high.
Not only the graphics are very nice, also the music created by Parsec Productions, is amazing. This all, together with the nice help files and the level editor, makes this game one of the top games of the freeware world.
Controls:
Important: Use the Z key as enter key
Arrow keys = move
C = hold down for the First Person view
Space = pause
Esc = exit game
