Donkey Kong Island 2 is a Spanish game but the game isself is easy for an English speaking only person to play. The object on each level is to get the big coin and to find your way to they exit. But that is much easier said than done! The first level of the game has DK swimming under water which makes it unlike a platform game but the rest of the levels are very much like any platorm game. There are obsticles in your way, including rolling barrels (of course), mice, spiders, sharks, birds and many others. Most of the enemies can be killed by jumping on top of them, but not all. Of the five levels that this author played, every level had something new and exciting, which might be a different background and/or different enemies.
Controls:
Ctrl = Jump/swim up
Arrows = Movement
F4 = Full screen/window
F5 = Save game
F6 = Load game
F1 = Help menu (Spanish)
Controls in more advanced levels:
Spider movements (Spider)
Spiderweb 1 = Spacebar
Spiderweb 2 = Hold shift and let go to leave sharp spiderweb.
Tips from reviewer:
As soon as you get through the intro screens and into the main part of the game, it is suggested that push the F5 key to save your game. This will prevent you from going through the intro screens at every startup. At game start up you can then press F6 to load your game and skip all the intro screens.
Level 4 is a very dificult level. When the level is first played from game startup, there are fewer monsters than if played a second time.
Tips from game's author (translated by EiG):
When LEAVING the Water level you'll see A BLUE ARROW AIMING At A Coin. TO ENTER THAT AREA you'll have TO CLICK the coin with the mouse.
IN ORDER TO PASS THE AREAS you'll have to find 2 Lizzard coins THAT ARE HIDDEN IN EACH AREA, SO THAT it FREES THE DK coin THAT you must find AT THE END OF EACH LEVEL.
