Abandon 2 is a bat and ball game similar to Breakout or Arkanoid. Instead of walls on three sides, you have a paddle on all four sides to control with your mouse. There are two different modes. In the first mode your objective is to remove all the bricks by hitting them with the ball. There are 12 levels in this mode with 3 different backgrounds. The second mode is just to keep the ball on the board as long as possible. The options that this game has is limited to sound/music on/off and a choice of languages: English or Czech. But there are some nice features. You can save your current game in progress and the high scores are also saved. You can always start at a previously completed level. Some bricks when hit, will give you various power ups, such as extral lives, more balls, smaller balls, phasers and etc. Moving the 4 paddles with the mouse can take some getting used to. Decrease the ball speed and you will do fine and as you get more acustomed to it, you will like a faster speed.
Controls:
Mouse = move paddles
Left mouse button = fire phasers (when available)
+ = increase ball speed
- = decrease ball speed
Esc = pause menu
If you are looking for an unusual breakout game to play, then you have found it.
