A Short & Nice Mario Clone
At first, you will noticed that the game is black & white.To add things worse, the game screen is a bit small. Do not be mistaken that the game is not good. On the contrast, the game play is excellent. This is a very short game with a sub boss and an end boss. You can play the game within 10 mins. The controls and style are similar to Mario Bros.
I like the black & white screens as it make some differences to the game we played today.Even though the game has no colorful graphics, this game still deserved a download for all.
Author Description
A couple of weeks ago I participated in a 3-week competition over at Retro Remakes (http://www.retroremakes.com ) and "A Mini Falafel Adventure" is the result. The aim of the competition was to create a game based on the T1 Calculator. This means: 4 colours, greyscale, 160*100 resolution and no clean underwear for a week.
This is my first released game in almost 4 years. I think that makes me a born-again n00b.
The game is a single-screen platformer with an emphasis on exploration, gameplay progression, and disco music. I used an array level loader because that seems to be what all the cool kids are doing these days.
It's not a particularly long game, to say the least; about 10-15 minutes if you're playing it for the first time and 5 minutes if you're a true falafel master. It does however contain a boss (a giant floating angry afro). It should keep you happy until you play The Underside, providing that Pod releases it within the hour.
If you die, you go back to the title screen. In retrospect, I probably should have added a restart point after the sub-boss, but on the other hand I'm also of the opinion that modern games spoon-feed us save points every ten seconds. If I update this game, I'll make it display hello.jpg if the player tries to Quick Save with F5. As I said, it won't take you long to get back to where you were since it's not a large game.
