A surrealistic 2D shooter for multiple players (local)
Astra is a 2D Top-Down semi-arcade action shooting game that focuses on co-operative teamplay. Up to 6 players can play on the same keyboard (Or Gamepad through Joy2Key) (read the readme.txt). Players choose one of 3 unique but balanced classes, to defend the center tower from waves of different incoming enemies. Each class has unique weapons and has advantages and disadvantages.
Although it is possible to play the game just on single-player, the game is really designed for teaming up. Multiplayer probably should be a feature, but I'll code that in the future, maybe, if people want that done.
note:
The game is made on C++, with OpenGL as the graphics library, so run as well reasonably fast even on old, slow computers.
new version 1.50 (sep 2008):
Lots of critical bug fixes, and includes multiplayer network support on top of hotseating co-op support!
